Pieces of flat sheet metal which is also referred to as the blanks are fed into the sheet metal stamping press wherein there is a set of tool and die surface which helps give it the desired shape and form.

Stamping also known as pressing is the process of placing flat sheet metal in either blank or coil form into a stamping press where a tool and die surface forms the metal into a net shape. Metal stamping is a cold forming process that makes use of dies and stamping presses to transform sheet metal into different shapes.
